Install Internet Information
Services(IIS)
ASP is powered by IIS. When IIS is installed, it automatically
creates a Default Web Site according to your PC's IP address.
Since IIS is not installed by default on some Windows system, such
as Windows 2000, you might need to check if IIS was already installed
on your machine.
Checking Installation
- Go to Start menu, select Control
Panel .
- In Control Panel window, double click on Administrative
Tools.
If you see "Internet Information Services" icon
in the opened window, that means IIS was installed. Otherwise,
following the below steps to install IIS.
The following illustration is based on installing IIS on Windows
XP. It should be similar for installing IIS on other systems.
Install IIS
Go Start menu, select "Control
Panel"
In Control Panel window, double click on "Add
or Remove Programs",you will see the following window:
Click
on "Add/Remove windows components" button
in the above window. You will see the following window popup:

Check "Internet Information Services", Click "Next" button. Then
you will click "Ok" on following procedure.
Once the Installation is finished, you may go to "Administrative
Tools" to check if there is "Internet Information
Services" icon |
